Artificial Ingredients… how they are poisoning you and making you fat!


Well, lets first look at what the term, “artificial” means.  According to Webster, artificial is“something made or produced by human beings rather than occurring naturally, typically as a copy of something natural.” Hmmmm…. why not just use the real thing then? God has made food perfect in itself, humans are destroying it.  Food Manufacturers love them because artificial ingredients are cheap ingredients. The added colors, flavorings, preservatives, sweeteners, fats, etc. that all wreck havoc on not only your waist line, but ultimately, and more importantly, your health. Plain and simple, our country is SICK!  Most people are calorie conscience, not ingredient conscience. They read the labels (or NOT!), making sure it is a low-calorie choice, but not making sure it’s a non-toxic, natural choice. All the convenient foods that flood the super markets, the fast food, soda’s, energy drinks, and yes even your favorite chewing gum (!), are killing us! The liver, naturally detoxify’s the body by removing any harmful foreign substances and metabolizes fat, protein and carbohydrates.  However, it is having to work overtime on trying to get rid of all of the unnatural, artificial ingredients that we consume, that it ends up spending LESS time metabolizing fat, protein and carbohydrates and stores it as fat.  So we just get fatter, unhealthy, and sicker.  Not only that, excess toxins end up getting stored in our body fat, which even makes it THAT much harder to lose the weight, and can lead to CANCER! What do you need to do?

  1. Eat Whole foods… Fresh organic produce, Whole grains (brown rice, sprouted grain bread, quinoa, etc), Unprocessed Proteins (Choose free range, Organic when possible), Nuts, Unsweetened dried fruit, Coconut oil, Olive oil
  2. Choose Organic when ever possible.  The Dirty dozen include:
    • Peaches
    • Apples
    • Sweet Bell Peppers
    • Celery
    • Nectarines
    • Strawberries
    • Cherries
    • Pears
    • Grapes (Imported)
    • Spinach
    • Lettuce
    • Potatoes
  3. Shop mainly in the perimeter of the grocery store. The isles are filled with processed foods filled with preservatives, refined sugar, and unnatural ingredients… with the exception of some frozen vegetables, canned beans, and all natural breads.
  4. STOP EATING CONVENIENT FOODS. Those little packages of Crackers and cookies, even though they are only “100 calories,” are making you sick! Instead grab a banana… or a green smoothie!
