No cool whip or whip topping is allowed in this house! I used to go for low calories… that was until I began reading the ingredients! Paleo Coconut Whipped Cream is definitely a delicious and healthy alternative!
Check this out…
So yes, I used to just LOVE that Cool Whip only had 20 or so calories too, BUT look at those ingredients… hydrogenated oils (aka trans fat… think artery clogging), corn syrup (think insulin spike and diabetes), high fructose corn syrup (ditto!). Those are just a FEW of the unnatural ingredients that will send our health to the toilet!
Its not all about calories and not all calories are created equal! Coconut cream is full of delicious, heart HEALTHY fat! Yes, healthy SATURATED fat! For the last FORTY years, Americans have cut their saturated fats down, but obesity has skyrocket! hmmmmm….
WHY SATURATED FAT Can Be GOOD FOR YOU
Nick English, states “Saturated fat has been shown to have a ton of positive effects on the body, including:
Liver Health: Saturated fat encourages the liver cells to dump their fat cells, which helps the liver to function more effectively.
Immunity: Saturated fatty acids, especially the kinds found in butter and coconut, help white blood cells to recognize and destroy invading viruses and bacteria. Go get ‘em, boys!
Hormones: Eating saturated fat tends to increase free testosterone levels, which helps to repair tissue, preserve muscle, and improve sexual function.”
Everything we were taught to be healthy… throw it out the window! Low-fat, diet foods, gone! phew! What a relief right!? You know they don’t taste good!
Now that we have that out of the way! Lets get REAL with this real food… Coconut Whipped Cream! You’ll never go back!
Coconut Whipped Cream
- 1 can of Coconut Cream (Chilled at least 2 hours)
- 2 Tbs Pure Grade B Maple Syrup
- 1.5 tsp pure vanilla
- My can of coconut cream did not have any milk in it, but sometimes it does!
- Chill the can of coconut cream for at least 1 to 2 hours.
- Scoop out cream into a medium bowl to whip.
- Add vanilla and Maple syrup.
- Using a hand mixer, whip until light and fluffy.
- Top on fresh Peach cobbler, fresh fruit, or cake!

This was the PERFECT addition to my Paleo Peach Cobbler, but would also be amazing with my birthday cake recipe, Chia pudding, or just on top of fresh berries! I hope you enjoy it as much as we do and stay away from the toxic Cool whip above!
I love feedback! Leave a comment, share, pin, to spread the love!
Keep it clean, keep it natural! From my natural health blog to you!
I was looking for more recipes to use maple syrup and this looks yummy. If people would take the time to read ingredients in a lot of products, likely they would promptly put them back on the shelves. Cool Whip has been banned in our house for a while and this looks like a most excellent alternative. What a treat!
