What is an inspiring diet? Does it mean we need to count every calorie we ingest? Does it mean we need to be hungry to be healthy? Absolutely not.
Inspiring literally means “tending to arouse.” Food can be just that… arousing! The fragrant scent of fresh herbs (the aroma of fresh basil is intoxicating), the pungent taste of fresh cheeses, the boldness of wine, the sweetness of freshly picked summer fruits, or the hearty tastes of vegetables grilled to perfection.
It is inspiring to see my plate as colorful as the rainbow.
It is inspiring to choose grass-fed and organic.
It is inspiring to eat free range.
It is inspiring to cook.
It is inspiring to create.
It is inspiring to nourish.
Those are inspiring.
An inspiring diet is one that is full of flavors that will ignite our senses. It will prevent disease. It will nourish our bodies fully. An inspiring diet makes me want to sit and savor each bite.
Sit. Eat. Savor. Enjoy. Give thanks!
